Hey Sec 2s. Here's something I'd like to share with the squad..
Standards. From what I've observed, the possible reason that your MOI, WOC couldnt excel, is because you didnt know your basic knowledge well..
Imagine a scenario: 'A Maths Teacher, who is gonna conduct a Maths lesson, but didnt know Maths at all!'
If you are the maths teacher in the scenario, the one who's gonna suffer is your students, and you.
Your students suffer because they are depending their Maths Grades on a Maths teacher that doesnt know what he/she is teaching.
You suffer, because ultimately, the student's Maths Grade is in your hands, you already have a huge role to play, which is, to ensure the Maths knowledge is to be passed down to all your students...yet you dont know Maths, so you have to spend more time to learn maths before you can even teach them..
Ending up having to put in more effort to brush up your skills, and at the same time, to teach your students. It's gonna take a lot more effort and time.. (couldnt this be well prevented if you are well prepared before you become a teacher?)
Do you want to be like the Maths Teacher above? Only choosing to brush up on your basic knowledge when you are assigned the role to teach.
Let's translate it back into NPCC.. You, right now, as a trainee. Learning to teach, this is the time where you must already have your basics right. MOI session is to train your Method of Instruction Skills, not training you to brush up on your basic foot drills! See the difference?
When you become a CL, your juniors depend on you to pass down the knowledge to them, you cannot afford the time to start learning all the basics all over again at that stage!
Be it WOC, MOI Campcraft or drills. To begin training to master these 3 components, you have to know the basics. Spend time, practice your knots & lashings, practice your basic footdrills, MOIs etc..
*To help you all with your upcoming MOI, WOC Tests, I've uploaded 2nd Class Drill notes for you all in your facebook group.Piece of advice..Time management.. it's good to prioritise the work that you have.
Dont waste time just because you think there's plenty of time left.
Always, Invest your time on the things that serves a purpose!
Manage time well for Yourself, Play, Study and for CCA. it takes lots of lots of practice..
See you guys soon!
